[For Students, Faculty and Staff] Entering the Library and Library Card
You need either a Student ID Card with a magnetic stripe (issued to Undergraduate Students and Graduate Students) or a Library Card to enter the libraries. These cards are valid for four libraries and two of faculty/research institute libraries: Library of Graduate School of Human Sciences and Library of Institute for Protein Research.
For Undergraduate Students and Graduate Students
You can enter the library and borrow materials with your Student ID Card (with a magnetic stripe on the back).
For Non-Regular Students (Research Students, Auditors etc.)
You need to get a Library Card.
Please apply at the counter with your Student ID Card. (Weekdays 9:00-17:00)
For Faculty, Staff and Research Fellows
You need to get a Library Card.
Please apply at the counter with any one of items listed below. (Weekdays 9:00-17:00)
- Document which mentions your state, department and term in Osaka University, for example:
- employment contract document
- contract document concerning your status such as Visiting Researcher, Research Advisor, and so on
- Staff ID Card
- ID number issued by Osaka University, for example:
- “Kojin Bango” (The eight-digit number which is indicated in your employment contract document and your salary slip)
- Osaka University Personal ID
※When the library cannot confirm all the necessary information by your ID numbers, we ask you to show us one of the documents of 1.
For Professors Emeriti
Library staff will mail a Library Card and a library guide to your home.
