[For Alumni, Visitors] Entering the Library and Library Card
You can enter the library temporarily on condition you use library materials.
- At the counter, please fill out your name, address and telephone number in the entering procedure form. A letter of introduction is not required.
- You need to get "Library Card" in order to check out materials.

The Osaka University Library is a library that operates with the primary goal of supporting the research and education of students, faculty and staff at the university. When you use the library, please follow notes listed below.
how to get Library Card
Library Card (Status: Alumni)
- Those who graduated from school or graduate school of Osaka University (including Osaka University College of Bio-Medical Technology)/Osaka University of Foreign Studies (not including those who were Research Students, Special Students or Auditors)
Please apply at the counter of each library with an official identification which indicates your address such as Driver's License, Health Insurance Card, Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate etc. (Weekdays 9:00-17:00).
Library Card (Status: Visitors)
- Those who are 20 years old or more and are able to check out and return materials directly on their own.
Please apply at the counter of each library with an official identification which indicates your address such as Driver's License, Health Insurance Card, Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate etc. (Weekdays 9:00-17:00).
Library Card (Status: Minoh Citizens)
- those who live in or have their office/school in Minoh City
Please apply at the counter of International Studies Library in Minoh Campus.
You can not apply for this card at Main Library, Life Sciences Library, and Science and Engineering Library. ("Library card (Status: Visitors)" only)
