Library Services

Access to the library is currently restricted in principle to the following people. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Faculty, staff and students at Minoh campus can request to reserve materials held in International Studies Library (5/14 - 5/31 June 20)

Until May 31(Mon) June 20, International Studies Library will be accepting reservations for the library materials from Faculty, staff and students at Minoh campus.

You can pick up reserved materials at the service counter on any day the library is open, including Saturdays and Sundays. You do not need to make an reservation in advance to pick up reserved items.

OU members can enter International Studies Library on weekdays by pre-booking (5/13 - 5/31 June 20)

On weekdays from May 13(Thu) to May 31(Mon) June 20, International Studies Library will admit Osaka University members who have made a reservation.
In order to make your reservation, please apply through Admission Booking Form below. (Osaka University members only)

We set time slots for the admission booking, with a maximum of 100 people allowed per slot.

If there is room for more people, you may be able to enter the library by applying at the counter on the day of your visit.

Library services during the reserved admission period
Services available
  • Using Osaka University Library’s materials
  • Photocopying using the copiers on the 3rd floor
  • Short-term use of the reading seats to check library materials
Services not available
  • Using library facilities (reading rooms, study cubicles, group study rooms, learning commons “LUX”, AV library and AV commons)
  • Entry to the 2nd floor
  • Using Minoh City Library’s materials

  • You can only stay in the library until the end of your time slot.

Reserved materials can be picked up at the library counter (5/12 - )

On May 12, we resumed picking-up service for reserved books that arrived to the International Studies Library.
When you receive an e-mail notification, please visit the Service Counter on the 2nd floor during the library opening hours.

Material hold and delivery service resumes (5/1 - )

  1. You can request holds and delivery of materials in International Studies Library through OU library OPAC.
    • If you would like to check out them during the International Studies Library's temporal closure (from May 1 to May 11), pick up at other OU libraries in operation.
    • You can check the opening hours of each library on the following pages.

    • If you are a faculty member or graduate student in Minoh Campus, you can pick them up in Minoh Campus. Please fill out the application form on the following page.

      On weekdays from May 13(Thu) to May 31(Mon), International Studies Library will admit Osaka University members who have made a reservation. If you would like to use materials held in International Studies Library, please make a reservation in advance and visit the library.
      If you would like to check out the library materials on Saturdays or Sundays, please make a request through Application form for checking out materials held in International Studies Library (For faculty, staff and students at Minoh campus only.)
  2. You can request books or copies from other academic libraries through the library Web service.
    • It takes about one week to ten days for requested materials to reach the library.
    • You can pick them up after International Studies Library is reopened.

Drop box is available (5/1 13:00 -)

Borrowed items can be returned through the drop box next to the main entrance of International Studies Library (Minoh City Semba Library) from 13:00 on May 1.
