[For Students, Faculty and Staff] Entering the Library and Library Card

You can enter the library using one of the following methods.

* Login with your Osaka University Personal ID is required.
Facial recognition service remains available. If you are a non-regular student or a faculty or staff member and have not yet registered for facial recognition, please register your photo with OUID.

Student ID Card (digital/magnetic）, the Digital Staff ID Card and Library Card (magnetic) are valid for four libraries and two of faculty/research institute libraries: Library of Graduate School of Human Sciences and Library of Institute for Protein Research.

For Undergraduate Students and Graduate Students

You can enter the library and borrow materials with the OUID Facial Recognition System and Student ID Card (digital/magnetic）.

For Non-Regular Students (Research Students, Auditors etc.)

You can enter the library and borrow materials with the Digital Student ID Card.
If you wish to use the OUID Facial Recognition System, please register your photo with OUID. You can check whether your photo is registered using your Digital Student ID Card.
If desired, we can issue you Library Card (magnetic card). Please apply at the counter with your Student ID Card. (Weekdays 9:00-17:00)

For Faculty, Staff and Researchers

You can enter the library and borrow materials with the Digital Staff ID Card.
If you wish to use the OUID Facial Recognition System, please register your photo with OUID.

If you are about one month after obtaining your Osaka University Personal ID or a contract renewal, please apply using the form below.

If desired, we can issue you Library Card (magnetic card). Please apply using the form above (Osaka University personal ID is required). You may also apply at the counter with any one of items listed below. (Weekdays 9:00-17:00)

1. Document which mentions your state, department and term in the University of Osaka, for example:
• employment contract document
• contract document concerning your status such as Visiting Researcher, Research Advisor, and so on
• Staff ID Card
2. ID number issued by the University of Osaka, for example:
• “Kojin Bango” (The eight-digit number which is indicated in your employment contract document and your salary slip)
• Osaka University personal ID

※When the library cannot confirm all the necessary information by your ID numbers, we ask you to show us one of the documents of 1.

For Professors Emeriti

You would receive a Library Card and usage guide through your department.
