Repair work on the small freight elevator in the stacks of the Science and Engineering Library Stacks will be carried out from February 7 to March 7, 2026.
During this period, there will be noise and shaking throughout the West Building, and access to certain areas may be restricted.
Period: February 7 – March 7, 2026 (tentative dates)
The days on which particularly unpleasant noise and vibration are expected are as follows:
- February 12 (Thursday)
- February 13 (Friday: morning）
- February 18 (Wednesday)
- February 19 (Thursday)
- February 20 (Friday)
*Repair work will not be carried out on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Affected areas
Noise and vibrations will affect the entire West Building (1st to 3rd floors). Some areas may also experience access restrictions:
- Reading areas throughout the West Building
- The Speaking Booth
- Group Study Rooms and the Meeting Room
- Library Hall
- Stacks, etc.
*Library materials are available for use as usual.
*During the construction period, if you have difficulty using the reading space in the West Building due to noise or vibration, please use the East Building reading room, which is normally closed during spring break.
