The University of Osaka Libraries (Main Library, Life Sciences Library, Science and Engineering Library, and International Studies Library) accept book purchase requests from students of UOsaka (The University of Osaka).

Annual Limits (2025)

Within the academic year per person,
- Up to 50,000 JPY in total
- Up to 10 books
*These limits apply to the total number of books and total cost across all four libraries combined, not per library. (Effective from April 1, 2025)
Criteria for Book Requests
- Books not currently held by any of the four libraries (Main, Life Sciences, Science and Engineering, or International Studies) may be requested.

Not Eligible for Purchase
Requests for purchase of the following items will not be accepted.

How to Submit a Request
Submit your request using the web application form. Please check the eligibility criteria and ineligible books before applying.
- When submitting your request, please select the library (pickup counter) where you would like to pick up the book, even if you do not wish to receive priority checkout.
- We will decide which of the four libraries will purchase and hold the book.
- If the book cannot be purchased, you will be notified by the e-mail address you provided at the time of application, usually within one to two weeks.

Important Notice
Requests may be declined due to budget limitations, even if they meet the criteria.The application period may also end before the academic year concludes.
