Facilities

This page shows you characteristics of facilities in our library and how to use these spaces.

Cubicles

These are cubicles for one person located on the 3rd floor of the East Wing.
You can reserve the rooms in Science and Engineering Library at Circulation Desk or through Web Service.
It is accessible through the following link by logging in with Osaka University Personal ID (u_______).

Group Study Rooms

These are rooms for 3 persons or more located on the West Building 2F. You can use the rooms for learning, discussion, etc.
You can reserve the rooms in Science and Engineering Library at Circulation Desk or through Web Service. It is accessible through the following link by logging in with Osaka University Personal ID (u_______).

Please enter the names of all persons in the same room in the remarks column.

Faculty and staff can make a room reservation prior to the day of use at Circulation Desk (Application form: Word / PDF).

Reservation On the Day Only, up to 3 hours (extension possible)
*Faculty and staff can make a room reservation at Circulation Desk prior to the day of use.
Equipment You can access to internet with the Wireless LAN. A whiteboard and a screen (We lend you a projector at Circulation Desk.)


Currently, You can also use Group Study Rooms for one person engaging online activity. Reservations can be made only at Circulation Desk on the day of use for up to 3 hours at a time. *Club activities and other private purposes are not allowed.[2023.4.1]

Meeting Room

This is a room for 6 persons or more located on the West Building 2F. You can use this room for learning, discussion, etc.
You can reserve this room in Science and Engineering Library at Circulation Desk or through Web Service. It is accessible through the following link by logging in with Osaka University Personal ID (u_______).

Faculty and staff can make a room reservation prior to the day of use at Circulation Desk (Application form: Word / PDF).

Learning Commons

These are spaces for group discussions, group learning, using PCs and so on. These spaces are located on the 1F of the East and West Buildings.
Please check the following guidelines and submit the application form to Circulation Desk.

Library Hall

This hall is located on the West Building 3F. You can use this hall for lectures, seminars, etc.
Only faculty and staff can apply (students cannot apply).

Please check the guidelines below and bring the application form to the Circulation Desk or send it as an e-mail attachment to the address below. Temporary reservations can also be made over the phone.

*Maximum number of users is 66 when there is a large number of people speaking.

Web Service "Reserve Rooms"

Note

  • The Library Hall is available for educational, research, and study purposes.
  • If you need to cancel the use of Library Hall, please contact us as soon as possible.
  • Please prepare and clean up during the available hours (between the opening of the library on the day of use and 15 minutes before the library closes).
  • We do not keep luggage before or after use.
  • Please remove all luggage and equipment brought into the facility each day, even if you are using the facility on consecutive days. If desks or chairs are moved, please return them to their original locations after use.
  • No food is permitted inside the library. However, beverages in covered containers are permitted. Please inform the participants.
  • If you wish to carry your belongings in on a cart, you can use the elevator outside the West Wing. Please use the intercom.
  • If there are participants who do not have a library user card (visitors or those who have not applied for a library user card), please provide one person to handle entrance to the library.
  • If there are times when the room is unattended, please lock the door and return the key to the Circulation Desk at once.
  • No waiting room facilities are available. In addition, group study rooms and conference rooms cannot be used for this purpose.
  • Please contact us in advance if there will be outside coverage, such as by the media.
