AV Library, AV Commons

AV Library

  • AV Library is on the third floor of International Studies Library.
  • AV library has booths in which you can use audio-visual materials such as DVDs, Blu-rays, videotapes, LDs, cassette tapes, CDs, MDs, and so on.

How to use

  • Osaka University Library Card or Minoh City Library Card (green or red card) is required to use materials in AV library.
  • Bring your library card and the case of a material in AV library (only one material per time) to the Reference Counter on the third floor. We will lend you headphones and controller. You can watch it at the designated booth.
  • You may not borrow more than one item at a time.
  • Also, you may not reserve audio-visual materials or booths.

AV Commons

  • AV Commons is on the third floor of International Studies Library.
  • You can watch audio-visual materials with friends. These are spaces for group discussions.
  • You can freely change the layout of the room.
  • Osaka University Library Card or Minoh City Library Card (green or red card) is required to use AV Commons. Please present your Library Card at Reference Counter on the third floor.

Normal use

Who can use A group of 4 or more people whose representative is one of the following;
  • Students, faculty and staff of Osaka University
  • Those who live, work, or go to school in Minoh City and have a green Minoh City Library Card
Osaka University Library Card or Minoh City Library Card is required when you use AV como.
Purpose of useUsing audio vidual materials in AV Library in group of 4 or more people.
HoursFrom library opening time to 15 minutes before closing time on days the library is open (9:00-19:45 on wekdays, 10:00-16:45 on weekends and holidays)
CapacityFrom 4 people to 20 people
Room keyOn the day of use, we will lend you a room key at the Reference Counter on the third floor.
ReservationYou can't reserve AV commons for the normal use. Please Bring your library card and the case of a material in AV library (only one material per time) to the Reference Counter on the third floor.
Room availabilityYou can check the room availability at   "Reserve Rooms" page on Osaka University Library Website.

Class or events

Purpose of use
  • classes or events for the purpose of education or research conducted by Osaka University faculty and staff
  • events for the purpose of academic research or education conducted by Minoh City Library card (green) holders using items from Minoh City Semba Library

* Please apply for the usage time including preparation of the venue.
CapacityFrom 4 people to 20 people
EquipmentsMovable desks and chairs, BIG PAD (an interactive whiteboard), microphones, whiteboards and audiovisual players
*Air purifiers will be in operation during use.
Room keyOn the day of use, we will lend you a room key at the Reference Counter on the third floor.
Reservation

Reservations are accepted between 3 months and 1 week prior to the desired date of use.

Please fill out an  application form and submit to the library by email or in person.

  • Submit by email [Osaka University members only]
    1. Upload the form to ICHO's Onedrive.
    2. Set up for sharing.
      1. Right-click on the form on Onedrive.
      2. Click "共有" button.
      3. Set the user you want to share the form with to "リンクを知っている国立大学法人 大阪大学のユーザー".
      4. Click "適用" button.
    3. Copy and paste share URL into an email.

      Click "コピー" on the pop-up window in the previous section to copy the URL to your device's clipboard. Then paste it into a body of an email.

    4. Send the email to International Studies Library(   ).
  • Submit to the counter

    Please bring the form to the Reference Counter on the third floor duing the open hour (9:00-20:00 on weekdays, 10:00-17:00 on weekends and holidays).

Room availabilityYou can check the room availability at   "Reserve Rooms" page on Osaka University Library Website.
Purpose of useCurrently, AV Commons is available only for the following uses. However, even if the above condition is met, it cannot be used for events that charge an entry fee.

Notes on Use

  • Please handle materials and equipment with care.
  • Audio-visual materials may not be checked out or copied.
  • Eating and drinking are not allowed inside AV Library and AV Commons. If you ignore the rule, we may ask you to leave the room and may prohibit you from entering AV Library and AV Commons.
  • Please refrain from talking on phone, and turn off your mobile phone or put it into silent mode.
