Facilities

This page introduces you the characteristics of the facilities in our library and how to use them.

Learning Commons "LUX"

  • LUX is a place for active learning. You can have a discussion and study here. It's on the third floor.

Audio-Visal Library, Audio-Visual Commons

  • You can use a lot of audio-visual materials such as DVDs, Blu-rays, videotapes, LDs, cassette tapes, CDs, MDs and so on. They're on the third floor.

Group Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms are spaces which can be used by two to eight people for study and discussion. There are two rooms on the third floor.

Those eligible A group of two to eight people, represented by one of those following;
  • Students, faculty and staff of Osaka University
  • Minoh residents, those who go to school in Minoh City, and those who work in Minoh City
Student ID card, Osaka University Library Card or Minoh City Library Card is required when you use Group Study Rooms.
HoursYou can use Group Study Rooms up to three hours in succession, but only until 15 minutes before the closing time.
  • If there is no reservation for the room, you can continue using the same room for another three hours. After the first three hours, please return to the Reference Counter.
  • Exception: usage time cannot be extended from two weeks before the beginning of the university exam period to the end of it.
Reservation Reservations can only be made for the same day (accepted up to 30 minutes before the library closing time)
To make a reservation, please use one of the following ways;
  •  Web Service - Reserve Rooms [Only for Students, faculty and staff of Osaka University]
  • Reference Counter on the third floor
  • TEL (072-730-5126)
EquipmentsWireless LAN is available.
Note
  • Group Study rooms are rooms for learning, research or educational activity, such as study by group or discussion, using materials held by Semba Library and International Studies Library.
  • Activities that use audio, such as presentation practice and web conferencing, are not allowed.

Study Cubicles

Study Cubicles are private rooms for one person. There are five cubicles on the fourth floor

Those eligible
  • Students, faculty and staff of Osaka University
  • Minoh residents, those who go to school in Minoh City, and those who work in Minoh City
Student ID card, Osaka University Library Card or Minoh City Library Card is required when you use Study Cubicles.

  • Study Cubicles are for academic research purposes only. They cannot be used for job hunting, club activities, attending online lectures, or work.
  • Activities that use audio, such as presentation practice and web conferencing, are not allowed.
  • When you use Study Cubicle, library staff will ask you the purpose of your use. Please tell us the specific purpose of your use, such as to do research or write a paper on △△△[field or theme].

  • A room for reading service. It's on the second floor.
